UX/UI design to set you apart from the competition
UX/UI process at Turum-burum
MVP, new project
We will analyze any project specification to create a new product with no analog in the market. Our team knows how to turn usability into a competitive advantage at the MVP stage to ensure no barriers to entry in the online marketplace.
While working on a new project, we conduct interviews with:
- Stakeholders;
- Customers;
- Managers (sellers in offline stores, sales departments, etc.).
For existing project
We take the time to get a feel for the brand or do mystery shopping to understand the product's tone of voice better, identify service strengths, and communicate them online.
To deliver a high-quality customer experience, we dig deep into analytics and tracking:
- Google Analytics sales funnels and user behavior;
- GTM-events;
- Heatmaps and session records.
As a result of the first stage, we get:
- Business and customer needs and expectations, as well as technical requirements;
- List of competitors;
- Analytical reports (quantitative and qualitative data);
- User behavior map;
- JTBD (“job to be done”) and user scenarios (detailed user interaction with a product or service to achieve a certain goal) are used to identify the tasks the product should satisfy.

Stage #2: UX mapping
Who is your customer? The target audience study.
Target audience research is about understanding users (their needs, motivations, and behavior) to create a product that meets their expectations. Key steps: Define research goals; Collect data (surveys, interviews, analysis, etc.); Analyze and discover insights; Segment audiences.
Result: A deeper understanding of users and the insights needed to make informed decisions in the next stages of product development.
One-to-one with a customer. Creating a customer persona (optional)
Some view this step as a waste of time and money, while others consider it essential for project success.
Based on Turum-burum's experience, creating a persona portrait makes sense for large projects. It helps to better understand the target audience and group users based on their behavior, expectations, and goals.
For example, to create an effective interface for the Samsung Experience Store, we had to clearly understand why customers should use the official store, rather than any other online electronics store that sells Samsung products.
Result: A deeper understanding of the target audience, their needs, demands, challenges, and goals.
Customer journey map (CJM)
Customer journey map (CJM) allows to focus on specific interface issues and to save customers time and money.
Result: Know what your target audience thinks and feels when they use the website at each stage. CJM is the basis for creating a new information architecture and future interface.
Know your competitors
Competitive analysis helps to identify unique visual elements and functionality to be added to a new product to differentiate it from other brands.
Result: A project's feature list to match the market and stand out from competitors.
Етап №3: Прототипування
Stage #3: Prototyping
Step 1
We create low-fidelity prototypes to illustrate the information and navigation architecture of the website's key pages and ensure that all aspects align with customer expectations.
Result: The client can see how the future website will look and work and approve any changes at an early stage. This minimizes financial and time risks by reducing the time required to coordinate further work.
Step 2
After creating low-fidelity prototypes, we proceed to create high-fidelity and detailed prototypes.
As a result, you, as a business owner, get an understanding of the overall UX/UI design of the key website pages. It means that at this stage, you already know that you will get a project that meets both business and customer requirements.
Summary
For large projects, our team can develop more than 200 detailed prototypes of different blocks and pages. This allows us to:
- Predict customer behavior at different stages of their interaction with the platform;
- Simplify the next stages of development;
- Test user journeys on prototypes.
This lets us test the website's usability, make it intuitive, and save money by solving UX problems early.
Stage #5: Animation
We create animated prototypes for projects and solutions that are tricky to explain with words. This includes things like seamless page transitions, eye-catching scroll animations, pop-up elements, menu expansions, and more.
In other words, some things are better and easier to demonstrate to make sure the client understands how it will actually work.
Stage #6: UI guide: smooth transition from design to development
We create a UI guide that covers the main aspects of design, including colors, fonts, padding, spacing, margins, actions, and transitions based on user behavior scenarios, interactive/pop-up elements, button clicks, and so on.
This comprehensive guide ensures a smooth transition from design to development, leaving no room for guesswork regarding the design specifications and user interactions. Furthermore, it helps maintain the interface in the future.
Stage #7: Authorial supervision
We are responsible for the final look of the project design. It is crucial for us that all UX/UI solutions and ideas are implemented correctly.
To ensure this, we supervise the work at all development stages. We work alongside the development team and provide feedback in case of any errors to achieve the desired goals of the project.
